Last Sunday, we decided to beat the church traffic and visited the Hogle Zoo in SLC. It was a beautiful day-about 85 degrees out. The zoo was great-very expansive with some good animals to see! Our personal fave...the reptile house. That had everything! Also the zoo had just opened a new exhibit, Nature's Nightmares. This exhibit had free flying fruit bats (asleep luckily while we walked through), scorpions, skunks, vultures, a vinegaroon, and a goliath bird eater spider among others. It was so creepy but also really cool to see these animals. But no picture taking was allowed in the exhibit so sorry....no pictures of the goliath bird eater spider. I recommend googling what this looks like. You will not be disappointed in how skeevy this thing is. Let's just say it was hiding in a small log and one of its ginormously long legs was sticking out. *Shiver*
Some pictures of our day. Mostly the posed ones we took together.

Waiting to go in Nature's Nightmares Exhibit.

The hit of the day...the carousel! O chose the buffalo. Very fitting for our trip.

O, me, Uncle Todd and Henry enjoying the carousel. Todd couldn't resist getting on for the ride but who can?

Watching the penguins. We saw them at the hottest part of the day so they were all burrowed together napping.

Love the pictures and I am so happy you couldn't post any creepy spiders. I am so afraid that even the pictures would probably make me cry! Did you know that we have the occasional vinegaroon in our backyard??? So scary...
Ewwwww Sandy. I am SO sorry! And the goliath spider is a giant tarantula basically. It just has crazy long legs. I mean long. I hate them as well!!
