Olivia and I left Illinois and went, for the first time ever, to Utah. My brother-in-law got a fantastic job as a land surveyor at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah which is just outside of Salt Lake City. So my sister and her family moved out there last year after we had already been stationed in Spain. This was my and O's first time seeing all of them in a year and also since they had moved from Illinois.
Let me just say, Utah is absolutely beautiful! My sister's house is on the shelf of a mountain and her backyard view overlooks the city of Ogden, the Great Salt Lake in the distance and the edge of the Rocky Mountains. Snow-capped mountains are everywhere you look! I am not a huge fan of snow but the view of these mountains just takes your breath away.
The pictures below are of the first few days here in Utah. We went on the Ogden River Trail for a nice walk, took a tour of Antelope Island to see wild antelope, coyote and buffalo, and then went to Snowbird Resort in the mountains for a fabulous Mother's Day brunch. And this was the first weekend.

My sis, me and all the kids on the Ogden River Trail.

The cousins getting acquainted over some tea.

Antelope Island and my first time seeing buffalo in the wild. The lady in that grey truck behind me was screaming for us to get back in the car. Sorry lady but I've been closer to a Spanish bull in a bullring. The buffalo did not make me nearly as nervous.

The buffalo crossing the street. He looked at my sis as she took the pic and then ran off across the road.

Olivia looking at a small herd of buffalo from the car.

Me and the herd of buffalo.

Debbie and I at Mother's Day Brunch at Snowbird Resort. Still plenty of snow and skiers on the mountain!
