Downtown Salt Lake City-Temple Square

Last Saturday, we decided to drive into Salt Lake City to see Temple Square. This area is owned by the Mormons. The Mormon Temple, where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs, is the central building in the square. Temple Square for the Mormons could be equated to the Vatican City for the Catholics. This whole area is very sacred and beautifully decorated and landscaped. We walked around the square which was busy with many brides and grooms and their wedding parties getting their pictures in front of the temple.
On a side note, my outfit for the day was really not appropriate for the temple square. Mormon women always wear sleeves or shirts under tank tops. It is not appropriate for a woman to wear a spaghetti strap tank top alone, go strapless or show their shoulders. This was evidenced by all the brides we saw walking around. Not one wedding dress was strapless or sleeveless. Needless to say, I screamed non-Mormon and felt slightly uncomfortable.

The square had multiple fountains and pools. It was all beautifully landscaped!

My sister and her family in front of the temple. L-R...Wyatt, Debbie, Lauren, Todd, and Henry.

A SMALL example of the landscaping. This does not even touch all the flowers planted in this square.

Salt Lake City is also the capital of Utah so we had to drive up and walk around the state capitol building. O's cousin Henry is chillin out in the grass.

Inside of the capitol building. In front of the steps leading up to the Utah House of Representatives wing.

The sisters and their children on the steps. An impromptu picture that turned out pretty cool. At least we think so!

Wife # 56 and 57. No joke...Brigham Young, the man in the middle, had 55 wives.
