Easter Egg Coloring

We had our first attempt at Easter egg coloring and it was a smashing success! As Justin said, "Little Heather Schamal" came out when we started to color eggs. I have always loved that childhood tradition and was excited to start it with Olivia.
Olivia loved coloring the eggs and we did it outside on the patio table as we knew she would spill (which she did). By the end, her hands were covered in dye but the eggs looked fantastic. It was also my first attempt at boiling eggs and we have not eaten any yet so I am hoping they are actually boiled:)

Getting ready to color the eggs. PAAS makes these awesome cups and coloring tablets now so it was easy cleanup and O can re-use the cups. Win-win!

Coloring our first eggs.

Checking on the progress.

Daddy (who had just gone for a run), sits and helps O take out the eggs.

She got the hang of taking the eggs out really fast!

Our final products. She was so proud!

Olivia, lying in the grass surrounded
by eggs, crying, is hilarious!

I remember those egg coloring days as well and so it continues. Dad is still laughing about Olivia crying. I feel so bad for her. That can be so overwhelming for a little one. Next year will be better. Miss you guys!!!

Isn't it fun getting to do the things we loved as kids with the kids we now have? I love passing down traditions.

I love the pic of Vivi, concentrating on getting the egg out and on the paper towel.<3
