When my parents were here over the Thanksgiving holiday, we took a day trip to Ronda, a city in the mountains about 2 hours from Rota. Ronda is a "white town" that are famous in the region we live in. This city is famous for having the oldest bull fighting ring in Spain and for its famous bridge that divides the city between the old Moorish quarter and the new modern area.

The
Puento Nuevo bridge that connects the Moorish old quarter from the new area of Ronda. It is 390 feet above the canyon.

My parents in front of the bridge.

A look down into the canyon floor from the bridge.

The old Moorish gate to the city.

Us in front of some of the white buildings of Ronda.

A walk down the pedestrian shopping area. It was all decorated for the holidays.

The old Moorish mosque turned Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque Cathedral. The bell tower was actually built around the Mosque's minuret.

Olivia is saying, "Look! It's an altar!"

One of the main town squares. There was a puppet show for kids that day.

Olivia in front of the bullring and statue of a matador.

The famous "first" bullring of Spain. We toured it and walked around the ring. O and I played "Toro". Here I am saying, "Ole!"

Justin and I are on the lookout for the bull. This fence is what the matadors stand behind after they have provoked the bull.

Us and my mom in the ring.

Okay. Had to pose normally as well.

A view of the ring from the upper deck.
