Ok. Now it is official. Justin received his orders yesterday and it's a done deal. Our next duty station is Rota, Spain. He is expected there in January-yes a month from now. We are in the process of contacting the JAG office there to make arrangements for our official start date. Justin will most likely leave before O and I and he will arrive there by the end of January. O and I will wait for available housing and our stuff to arrive which takes longer. We expect to go there in February at the latest.
It is absolutely amazing how our lives have changed over the last 3-4 years. We are really excited to go to Spain. We plan to travel around Europe as much as we can in the 3 years we will be stationed there. Everyone tells us how lucky we are for getting this particular duty station. I hope they're right.
Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and is busy preparing for a fantastic christmas season! We will be home for christmas for about two weeks and hope to see as many people as we can. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

This is awesome. Congrats you guys. I miss you and wish you the best.
We are so excited for you guys!!! That sounds amazing!! Wish we could have made it happen to see you guys before you go...one of these days we'll come up with something!!! Good luck with everything!!
Heather,
Brian was totally jealous when he heard you guys were probably going to be stationed in Spain :)
We always heard a lot of good things about Rota when we were stationed in Crete.
Maybe we can get together in Spain next time we are on vacation in Germany :)
Lots of love and good luck to you!
So, so exciting! But I'm a little selfish because I'm so sad not to see you and your family before you leave. We will have continue coordinated efforts if we can ever meet in Illinois. Chad is still set on making a trip (maybe year two of your journey).
Congratulations and good luck with the international move, I'm sure since the military is involved it will be much smoother than ours was. I look forward to lots and lots of blog posting from your European Adventure!
So glad to hear that it came through. Will you be done with grad school before you leave? Vince and I wish you all the best. How lucky for you all to experience Europe long term. Hope to see you when you are in for the holidays.
