Growth Spurts

Never have I seen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde more than when O goes through her growth spurts. This weekend she was a dream. She ate well, slept at least 2 1/2 hours for naps and her mood was fantastic. Then Monday came. She woke up early in the morning, was crabby and whining/crying over nothing all day including a major collapsing-on-the-floor Oscar winning tantrum at lunch and dinner and took a little over a one hour nap. Today, more of the same. She at least took a two hour nap but she wouldn't play with any toys during her bath and cried the Oscar winning cry again over the snack I gave her! Ahhhh. Are all kids this way? And is this what I have to look forward to every growth spurt? I just want my sweet non-irritable child back. Oh and a good sleeper would be nice too.

Not to scare....but they are all totally that way! May I just say there is something in the girls that is even more drama. Tatum can still be perfectly sweet some days and the next I am thinking "is this another phase...where is my child??"

Sorry, but it continues! I never know what mood to expect, who will be pleasant today, and who will be the crab...or worse, 2 crabs!

I don't know what you are talking about. My girls are always in great moods and spend their days telling me how wonderful I am and how much they love me!

O and Hayden may be vying for the Oscar for "best dramatic breakdown".... he has also been a real peach lately. Especially after waking up at 6 am then taking a barely one hour nap in the afternoon..... by 7pm I am ready for a LARGE glass of wine! I think all kids go through stages like this. They are not fun, but they really make you appreciate the good days, that's for sure!!! Hang in there! Kristine
