A New Chapter

Well the movers packed our stuff today and now I sit amongst boxes of my belongings. Tomorrow they will come to take everything away and Thursday we leave for Spain. It is hard to believe that we will no longer be living in the United States come this weekend. I have very mixed feelings. I am excited to live in another country and have such a great opportunity to experience Europe but I am also very scared and sad that we are leaving. I know it is only for a few years and I am sure I will be posting a similar blog in a few years about how sad I will be to leave Spain. I have met many wonderful people in the military thus far and have built wonderful friendships here in Virginia. It will be sad to say goodbye.

So, with that being said...

Hola Espana! Here we come.

Good luck, I know you guys are excited about moving overseas. It's funny because we made a similar move a few years ago with a one year old as well. We probably took the same rotator flight you're about to take! :) It all sounds overwhelming but it's not that bad, and I'm sure you'll have good memories in the end. Living there not only exposes you and your family to a different culture and new experiences but you'll also find that the military community is a close group and sticks together. I made some of my best friends while I was stationed overseas; from friends at work and local nationals. We will be thinking about you guys and hope everything is smooth. Can't wait to hear from you when you get settled! -Brian, Sandy, Emily, and Elliot

I'm anxious to see your first overseas post! I hope your trip there was good and you're getting settled. I looked online more at Rota and wow - what a dream place on the water! Save a week for us Summer 2010.
Can't wait to hear all about your new adventure!
